On July 31, 2008 ownership of the York Book and Paper Fair was transferred to Pam and Jim Lewin. A new corporation was formed. A new Pennsylvania lisence was obtained. And a new start was made.

The couple has become familiar to many bibliofiles in Central Pennsylvania and environs as the proprietors of The York Emporium used book and curiosity shop on West Market Street in downtown York. Since acquiring that shop in January 2006, they have worked to bring a fresh approach and added visibility to the store, and a greater range of merchandise offerings to their customers. They plan to do the same with the York Book and Paper Fair.

The coming event, in October 2010, marks the fifth time this team has organized the York Book and Paper Fair. So the ownership can no longer be called "new". However, some things have changed.

The most visible change is the venue. For most of its 25 years, the Fair called the York Expo Center "home." This changed in Spring 2010, when we moved to the Holiday Inn Conference Center at 2000 Loucks Road (near the junction of Rouite 74 and US 30). The mix of exhibitors and merchandise offerings has swelled to include records, comics and a broader range of collectibles.

At the same time, there is a recognition that traditions are important. So the casual observer may notice few changes. The core elements that make the event what it is remain unchanged.

The York Book and Paper Fair is a vital and growing concern. And we hope you're planning to come grow with us!
